December 2021:

• The latest edition of Posset Pieces ‘Farms in and around Portishead’ has been published. This was Sandy Tebbutt’s last publication.

November 2021:

• The new Heritage Centre within the Folk Hall has been named ‘The Sandy Tebbutt Heritage Centre’ in her memory and to acknowledge the great contribution she made to it.

May 2021:

• With great sadness it is announced that Sandy Tebbutt passed away on Sunday 9 May. She will be a great loss to the society and Portishead.

April 2021:

• A virtual AGM is to be held on Monday 12th April. At a committee meeting Mike Johnston resigned as Chairman and from the committee. We are very grateful to him for all his work over the 23 years as Secretary and Chairman. Peter Hills was welcomed to the committee, and has kindly agreed to become Secretary. Those who had paid their subscriptions from 1 Aug 2020 to 31 July 2021 will have their membership extended to next season, i.e. ending 31 July 2022. 

November 2020:

• On 2 November a metal sign was unveiled by Sandy Tebbutt on 9 Woodhill Road to signify No 1 Adelaide Terrace, its original name. Details on Recent projects page …

September 2020:

• 7 Sept: We started our new season of talks (with full Covid-19 precautions) successfully on Monday 7 September.
• 17 Sept: Due to the new ‘rule of six’ we are currently not allowed to hold further meetings.

June 2020:

• Three local organisations – Gordano Civic Society, WC&P Railway Group and Portishead in Bloom have jointly funded a new interpretation board about the old Weston, Clevedon and Portishead Light Railway. It has replaced an old one and stands on Wyndham Way opposite the Old Mill pub.

March 2020

• Members are asked for suggestions for this year’s Civic Award which is awarded for enhancement of the natural or built environment in any part of the Gordano area. Please let any committee member know if you have any ideas for a possible recipient.

February 2020

• At our February meeting Mike Johnston and Sandy Tebbutt paid tribute to Janet Gate, our former Secretary, who passed away on 25 January. She had been an active member for many years, making a great contribution and will be sadly missed.
